Thursday is award day.
I’ve been nominated for so many awards of late and I haven’t had the time to reply or send them along to others so here are the lovely people who nominated me. I really appreciate it.
Wholistic me nominated me for the versatile blogger award and a One lovely blog award.
Katykins nominated me for a Sunshine Award. It’s certainly beaming down on me today.
Silverfox gave me a versatile award but I can’t seem to find his blog any longer
Daphne gave me a one lovely blog award . Thanks Daphne
Howanxious, whose name really relates to me, also nominated me for a Versatile Blog Award (I’m seeing a theme.)
Paula nominated me for the The Very Inspiring Blog Content award. WOW. Thanks
Kourtney nominated me for the Inspiring Blog Award, in a very macabre post which I though was fun.
Good old girl nominated me for One lovely blog award.
healthykidshappymama nominated me for Beautiful Blog Award.
Samir over at ceciles writers nominated me for the TMI award. A little too much info….that’s me alright.
Thank you, each and every one. They all made me smile, and feel really good about myself. I am sorry for my slack replies. I had some things going on but now I have some free time and I want to thank you all for reading and coming back but mostly for your own blogs which I keep returning to.
Each of these awards has different rules so I am going to break some rules and tell you 7 strange things about myself.
- If I wear socks, they are always mismatched. I don’t trust matchy socks. They get together and talk. Mismatched ones are too shy to conspire against my feet.
- I finish off my shower with a blast of cold, even in winter. It reminds me my life is good now, and I have come along way.
- When I was in medical school I was a bit younger than the usual and I was given a hat to wear by one of my instructors because he said it made me look older. I still have that hat.
- When I sit down to dinner I have to circle the chair ones. It gives any ghosts time to get up so I don’t sit on them. Told you I was strange.
- I have a black room. Yes even the paint. The paint was still wet a few weeks ago and I leaned against the wall. I now have a black stripe down a white t shirt. Sevres me right for thinking a black room was a good idea.
- I have a half painted pink room.
- I do not cut the flowers from my garden. It seems like murder.
I would like to start a new award. It’s called the Daisy Award. Daisy’s are very sweet flowers, but they are stealth with hardiness. They’ll come up anywhere and beat the frost. This award is for the brave.
I’d like to give it to:
- Katy for her Spineless Wonder series. She is putting her talent out there and I love it.
- Mamacino who feeds her kids great healthy food. Against the grain of fast food, that’s brave.
- Selene who is putting her words down and invite reviews. That’s brave.
- Sarah, who is coming out of her shell.
- Claire who is writing and moving towards publishing. Again, very brave.
- Jilanne, who writes challenges and simply writes writes writes. I love that about her.
- Vanessa who inspires me.
There aren’t any rules. Spread it around if you like or not. It’s for you. Enjoy.

Very nice! Well deserved. You have ghosts at your dinner table?
Probably more than one. You never know, Robin. It’s an old place.
Congrats on your multiple awards. Well deserved! I look forward to reading some of your nominees. And just so you know, I don’t think the ghost thing is strange.
I remember when you posted about your pink room. Half-completed tasks are meaningful in that they’ll be finished when you’re ready, making the goal even more special.
So true, 1/2 done is almost there. And it gives me more to concentrate on.
Congrats, Kate. And I love the idea of the Daisy Award. You are a strange bird, so keep flapping those pink feathers…You’re giving the place character
I told you I was strange.
Thanks Kathryn, that’s a great compliment
Thanks, Kate! I think you are the daisiest of us all! I think I’ll go plant some daisies in your honor so that everyone who walks by our door can enjoy them.
)
Ohhhh that’s so touching. Daisys are indeed amazing things.
I have been working on my recent post for a day or two. I hope you don’t mind that I nominated you for a lovely blog award. Please don’t feel you need to respond to it. I can see how they could get out of control! Have a great day
I would love to. Thank you so much.
Daisys are my favourite and I have them littered through the garden. They pop up when they want to. Thanks kate
I love daisys so much and I love the way some people are like them. Resiliant.
Thank you so much for the Daisy award! Excellent choice of flower too. I like the dinner chair fact, I have a vision of you in restaurants doing that, but trying to make it look casual so that nobody notices!
That is just what I do Venessa. Sometimes when a waiter pulls out a chair for me ( doesn’t happen much in cafe”s which are my main going out eating place) I bump into the waiter and then he/she tries to move out of the way and it’s all a mess
Congrats on all the awards. Well deserved. I wish I had ghost at my dinner table… actually, I wish I had a dinner table.
Commander, to have them, you need a dinner table. They are funny like that. Dinner tables are they place they hang out.
I wish I could give you a dinner table.
Congratulations on the awards! They are all well-deserved. And I like the ghosts at the kitchen table etiquette. I hope they show their appreciation by not bothering you too much.
They are well behaved for the most part. Don’t give them sugar.
Fabulous to see you back on here and in such fine spirits, Kate!
Congratulations on your many (and incredibly well) deserved awards. Speaking on behalf of Cyril and Willy, they are utterly flabbergasted and honoured to have received their very first award!!! Thank you very much!
Love all of your little facts, I especially loved the one about the odd socks, that is genius!
It is their first of many I am sure.
Be careful with your socks, they conspire.
lmao, Thanks Kate.
I still can’t find you on fb.
Sorry Katy, Kate MacGregor, in Sydney. Any help. Otherwise I can add you. I think you have yours in your sidebar?
I’m still looking but I just can’t seem to find you, Kate (I’m probably being stupid). My facebook link doesn’t seem to work on my page. My screen name is Kate A-K
so I should be easy to find.
I investigated and it seems every fb has a particular address and mine is kate.macgregor.75@facebook.com
I added yours but i’m not sure it is you. LOL We are playing fb tag.
That’s so weird, isn’t it?! I have hit the address and it only comes up as an email thing. Does that sound right? I haven’t had a friend request… I think it’s hide and seek we’re playing!
You found me. LOL well done.
You are more than deserving of writing awards. And I love the new-to-me gravatar. It suggests so much and tells so little about you. It is a complete change in feel from the happy-go-lucky you in the earlier image. Having written that, I am feeling a sentimental tug for the other photo. I adored its joy.
I think that gravatar will come back Fay, she was just too smiley, she made me sad if that makes sense. Not sure when I will smile but someday and when I do, I will put her up there again.
I wanted to thank you for your beautiful words a few posts ago in “some sadness” I haven’t replied because reading them all makes me cry but yours was so moving. It touched me deeply , thank you so much.
Hy heart is with you, dear heart.
Finally I have found the origins of the daisy – not quite sure why I was nominated for this one (by the delightful Lily Wight of http://www.lilywight.com) but am glad to have found out what it is all about!
