Put a rope around me!
I’m stuck under this box. If you could just burrow in and get me out….much appreciated!
I’m putting spring cleaning to shame. I have opened, poked about, sorted, tossed and organised every item I own and some I don’t. My son has catalogued more lego than I thought was in existence. I still have too much stuff. I put my head in a box a moment ago just to get away form it all and contemplated staying in there for the remainder of the day.
My blog is growing cobwebs, but progress is being made on the move. Great progress.
I shall get to all your wonderful posts, I promise, a few at a time. If I don’t check in, come rescue me from the box.

I sympathise big time! Moving from one country to another means you have to make decisions about every single item, down to the last pencil. It costs a lot to ship stuff and so you have to be ruthless, it’s not easy is it! Good luck, you’ll get there, and don’t worry about reading our blogs…well apart from mine of course
The man from the shipping company came today. I thought I was going to have too much stuff and he said “Is that all?” I was so relieved.
How did I get so many pens and pencils? Every single thing in my home has to earn a place on that very expense container. I’m ruthless.
Good luck with the moving
Thank you!
Progress has many forms. I almost envy you your opportunity to due clutter your life and downsize. Almost. Good luck!
Haha, Heidi, come soft with me. I’ll give you tea.
Remember – less is best.
I really need to keep repeating that
One box at a time. It’s like eating an elephant, one bite at a time.
There are so many boxes. I’m dreaming of boxes
Life before blogging. Always.
I know how stressful moving can be, especially in your case, moving across the globe! But it’s also exciting, so enjoy the process, and don’t worry about us. I assure you, we’ll be here after you’ve had a chance to catch your breath a bit.
It’s so exciting, except when I’ve packed something and then need it. Now what box did I put that in?
Ugh, moving is bittersweet. As much as I dread going through everything, it is also very cathartic. What a great adventure you’re on!
That is true. It is cathartic and makes me realise how much stuff I never use.
I’m NEVER moving again. My heart goes out to you–so much work, headache and heartache. The one good thing is you feel you’re starting with a clean slate. Well, why not? By the time you’re done you’ve EARNED it.
Happy packing and moving.
I don’t blame you. I never want to move again.
I need coffee.
Focus on the essential and irreplaceable. The basic “stuff” is readily available here.
We’ll be here when you can get back to blogging.
My son keeps asking ” do they have xyz?” Im sure he thinks it’s some distant planet.
I’m going through the same thing at the moment, but I’m not moving until next March (I like to be prepared!)
Good luck!
Great idea to start now, Dianne. The less stuff you have to put in boxes the better.
Ack! Yes, I echo what the others have already said… moving is very exciting but also stressful. Update us when you can!
So stressful, I haven’t moved like this, ever. I feel for everyone who does it on a regular basis.
And this is why I will never move, even though I hate California. I don’t know how I got my rolltop desk into the bedroom-turned-office and I’m quite sure I’ll have to sell it with the house.
So, I’m staying.
LOL I have a huge dinning table, it was here long before me, and I’m thinking the legs have to be sawed off to move the thing. I have no idea how it got here.
I am very happy with your progress, pet. Looking so very forward to welcoming you at last.
Great progress. And the local charity shop is reaping it in.
Man, packing up and leaving is hard work, eh?! Wow! I think this will be a cathartic experience for you. I am very much living between two places right now… lol! Good luck on this new adventure – just go for it and enjoy the experience! Kudos to you, Kate!
And you did it successfully, Katy. Congrats on your job
Thank you!!
Yay for progress-progress of any kind is good! (: And by the way, no matter how long it takes, we will be here when you get back to blogging!!

I love that about bloggers. They never hold an absence to heart
I understand! And sympathize …a lot! Good luck on the organizing and the blog will be there waiting.. it will!
Why is blogging sometimes so time consuming and difficult? There has GOT to be a better way. Don’t answer this – you’ve got enough on your plate.
It really is time consuming. I’ve had to put it aside for other things. But the great thing is, it’s here when I get back.
Oppps I shouldn’t have answered that….where is my packing tape?
Very nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wished to say that I have truly enjoyed surfing around your blog posts. After all I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you write again soon!
Thanks
The largest distance I’ve moved is a few miles down the road. Well done for making another big move. Hope everything goes according to plan.
The other side of the globe isn’t so different, I’ve discovered. Just a ship rather than a truck. But all those boxes, I’m dreaming about boxes
It will, Pete. She’s doing great and we’re getting her ready day by day.
I love you!
